Our Response to COVID-19

Hi everyone,

As you are all aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing operational disruptions. As schools and governments continue to take proactive measures to slow the spread of the virus, we wanted to let you know what actions we at SOS are taking to ensure smooth continuity of our operations.

The well-being and safety of our volunteers, staff, and partners is our top priority. We are committed to doing our part to help ‘flatten the curve’ of COVID-19, while also offering as much support as possible.

Exam Aid Sessions:

Chapters that have scheduled to run in-person Exam-Aid sessions are now moving digitally. Chapters that will run digital exam-aids have the choice of running a Webinar style Digital Exam-Aid via Zoom or can pre-record a session to upload. We are coordinating with our volunteers on how to use alternative methods to ensure a smooth transition.

Alternatively, Chapters will continue to offer take-home packages which are readily available on their website. Please check your chapter at www.SOScampus.com for a session.

Outreach Trips:

In light of the Federal Government’s recent non-essential travel ban, we are temporarily pausing preparations for all our upcoming May trips. Deposits paid will be refundable if the trip is cancelled entirely or can be applied as a credit towards future SOS trips.

We will re-evaluate on a day-by-day basis and are looking into multiple options to allow the trips to proceed as planned for if/when the Federal Government’s recommendation is changed. In the meantime, SOS has been in touch with all May Outreach Trip participants and our NGO partners directly so they can adjust their plans accordingly.

In the meantime, we are sending our heartfelt thoughts to each and every one of you as we know this is a challenging and uncertain time for everyone.
